WRITTEN & DIRECTED

“Wunderkind” is a short film that I co-wrote and co-directed summer of 2025 in my hometown. Much of the film is about the fear of not being good enough to make it as an artist. As we wrote, we thought about the childhood joy of art making, about our own fears and failures. And so how wild to be making a film - making this piece of art - about the very fear of not being able to.

From storyboard to shot…

One of my favorite aspects of this entire process was seeing the vision I had at the very start come to life during shooting. After writing the script, I storyboarded the shots I wanted, which led to the shot list, and then to the shooting. Despite this being the standard order of film, it was pure magic to see it happen.

“A Shot In the Dark”, which I wrote and directed, was made in upstate New York during the summer of 2024 on a shoe-string budget.

The film is about how it is fear itself which can be the most terrifying thing. The story asked for a tense and fast-paced claustrophobic style.Though thrillers aren’t my genre of choice, writing and directing such a film challenged me to be flexible and adaptive in my directing ability. We filmed on-location and in the span of four feverish days, and were beyond proud of the end product.
